Spring Break

No more law school for a little while means that I don't feel too guilty taking a few hours out of the day to record. Ironically, I just purchased a drum machine, and the first thing I did was write a waltz...
A while ago I wrote that I wished for something (though I don't remember what) and then wrote "if wishes were fishes, then I would have two. Two tasty fishes for tasty fish stew". Recently recalling that line, I decided to make a song out of it.

C-F-C-F-G-C
C-[C-Am-C]-G-F- C

If wishes were fishes, then I would have two
Two tasty fishes for tasty fish stew
I'd eat all my fishes and drink all my wine
If wishes were fishes were mine.

If wantings were hauntings, then I would have two
Two helpful hauntings to watch after you
Two diligent hauntings to make sure you're fine
If wantings were hauntings were mine

If earnings were yearnings, then I would have two
A house and a job to take care of you
An earning of more than enough to get by
If yearnings were earnings were mine

But wishes aren't fishes, and so I have none
All that I want is all that we've done
And I just can't wait to see what we do
With wishes and fishes and you.
